What did the first playtest include?
Playsect opened the first playtest on May 3, 2026 and described it as light on content. The build had one level and two heroes, no achievements and no save transfer to the final game. Players requested access through the Steam store page.
The announcement warned about crashes, missing translations and other bugs. Feedback was requested through the game’s Discord server and the Steam Community hub. That playtest is the earliest public build of the game, which is why its limits differ so much from later versions.
What changed when the demo launched?
The free demo was announced on June 6, 2026, after polishing based on playtest feedback. The announcement describes runs lasting from seconds to minutes, automatic hero combat and manual clicking for extra damage. It also promises skill trees, upgrades and a prestige system with permanent upgrades.
Steam lists the demo as a separate app released in early June. It stayed free to download, so players could try the dungeon loop without buying anything. Many of the community videos highlighted in later announcements were recorded with this demo.
What was in New Release 0.1.8?
The June 22 update followed feedback and bug reports gathered during Steam Next Fest. It added ultrawide screen support and made the prestige information clearer than before. Skill node tooltips also gained information about which type of currency an upgrade costs.
Some translations were updated in the same release. The cost-type tooltip is a small change with a practical effect, because it shows which resource a node consumes before you plan a purchase. The clearer prestige display likewise aimed to make the reset decision easier to read.
What did the July 10 small update add?
The July 10 update introduced a background running mode, so the game continues progressing when its window is not in focus. It also added an auto-pickup reward skill that collects loot and rewards automatically. Both features push the game further toward comfortable idle play.
The same patch adjusted skill node colors for better contrast and faster identification. Hero pathfinding was optimized to reduce unnecessary detours and make movement smoother. The notes close with unspecified bug fixes and stability improvements.
What does the release announcement say about the full game?
The September 13 announcement confirms an October 19, 2026 launch and a 10% launch discount. It introduces a new damage-focused Rogue hero with a Blink Attack that quickly closes the distance to enemies. The Priest also receives a new skill called Activate, which the developer says can combine with other heroes’ skills in unexpected ways.
Beyond those two highlights, the developer promises more heroes, skills, bosses and levels. Some additions are deliberately kept secret until launch. Because of that, the full contents of the release cannot be listed in detail yet.
How do demo saves move into the full game?
The same announcement explains how demo progress is handled. Saves from demo version 0.9.0 and later can be transferred fully when the full game launches for the first time. The transfer is a one-time event, so later demo play does not affect the full-game save.
Saves from before 0.9.0 cannot transfer directly because the game changed significantly during development. Instead, the full game offers a one-time resource compensation based on earlier progress. Players can also skip it and start a completely new game.
How many players tried the demo?
According to the release announcement, more than 8,500 players had tried the demo by mid-September. The median playtime was 1 hour and 25 minutes. The game had also passed 5,500 wishlists on Steam at that point.
Playsect is a solo developer, and the announcement credits players, streamers and video creators for helping the game reach that audience. A community member was thanked by name for helping complete the French localization. These figures come from the developer and were not independently measured.
Which features target idle players?
Two changes stand out for players who prefer passive progress. Background running keeps the game progressing when the window loses focus, and auto-pickup collects loot without manual clicks. Together they reduce the attention each loop needs.
The demo announcement already framed runs as suitable for quick sessions or idle play. The July update made that idle side more practical on a desktop where other programs are open. Manual clicking for extra damage remains part of the active side of the game.
What do the version numbers mean?
The June update was titled New Release 0.1.8, while the save transfer rules refer to demo version 0.9.0. The developer has not published a full version history that links those numbers. Players should therefore check the version shown in their own demo rather than guess one from a patch title.
The version boundary matters most for save transfer. Saves from 0.9.0 and later carry over fully, while earlier saves receive compensation. Knowing your demo version before launch day avoids surprises at the first start of the full game.
What changed for heroes and skills before launch?
The playtest started with two heroes, while the demo invited players to recruit heroes from different classes. The full game adds the Rogue, a hero focused on damage, along with further heroes not yet named. The Priest’s new Activate skill is the only new skill described in detail so far.
Skill tree readability improved over the demo updates. Version 0.1.8 added cost-type information to node tooltips, and the July update changed node colors for clearer contrast. These changes show how central the skill tree is to planning a run.
Where will future patch notes appear?
Every update so far has been posted as an announcement on the game’s Steam news page. Launch fixes and later patches are most likely to appear there as well. Steam also surfaces these announcements on the library page for players who own the game.
This timeline reflects the official announcements available on October 18, 2026. Any patch list that claims to describe detailed launch balance changes goes beyond what the developer has shared so far. Check the date and source of a patch summary before relying on it.
